Rugby Park
Rugby Park has been Kilmarnock FC’s home since 1899 and is one of the longest-established football grounds in Scotland. Its unusual name reflects the use of the original site for rugby before the football ground developed. Situated near Kilmarnock town centre, the stadium has been modernised over time and features four stands enclosing an artificial playing surface. The ground has hosted significant domestic fixtures, including matches during Kilmarnock’s historic Scottish league championship-winning season of 1964–65. Its blend of heritage and modern facilities makes Rugby Park an important sporting venue for East Ayrshire and a recognisable part of the town’s identity.
